An estimate for fixing the damage was not made public by officials.
A Roadhouse Casino Employee Is Accused of Stealing $15K
A bookkeeper at the Roadhouse Casino in Elko, Nevada, is accused of stealing more than $15K from an ATM there.
On May 16, Sara R. Brady, 54, was taken into custody on four charges of embezzlement, according to the local Nevada news source Elko Daily Free Press.
The Elko County Jail received her booking. A $400K bail was imposed for her. Local prosecutors were given Brady's case.
According to the investigation, Brady was the only worker with the power to load money into the ATM. She told authorities that no one else was able to open the ATM.
For several consecutive weeks, the casino's accountants found that between $3K and $4K was being inappropriately taken out of the ATM each week.
The investigation started because the ATM was expected to have $8K for the week, but it had no cash.
Additionally, according to officials, four deposits in records did not match the sums Brady allegedly placed in the machine. According to April bank data, $15,640 was lost from the ATM overall.
Three Wendover Nugget employees were accused of conspiring to embezzle in an unrelated incident that occurred in Elko County on May 1. According to the Daily Free Press, one of them has accepted a plea agreement.
